This Spring semester, RMBI students are introduced to an exciting new topic: “Understanding AI and Non-Financial Risk in Financial Institutions.” We were honored to welcome Ms. Anchal Gupta, an expert in non-financial risk and data governance, who shared how risks beyond markets such as operations, technology and compliance are becoming central to financial stability.

The lecture explained the “three lines of defense” model and showed how AI adoption can amplify both opportunities and vulnerabilities. Students gained practical perspectives on governance, explainability, and the importance of hybrid skills that combine coding with policy judgment. The session encouraged RMBI students across all years to think critically about their future roles in building resilient financial systems.
