Our RMBIers
The well-designed RMBI program offers students a great learning experience from a wide range of courses; students can learn about various areas such as Data Analytics, Programming, and Risk Management. This provides students with diverse career paths, facilitating their career development.
In my case, I started working in my sophomore year, at first focusing on data science and artificial intelligence when working as an intern at various corresponding start-ups. Then, in my penultimate year, I decided to focus more on risk and data analytics-related roles. Although my early job experience seemed less relevant, I was still able to make the switch with the technical skills acquired from the flexible curriculum of the program. I later took up the roles of a Risk Consultant at PwC HK during the summer of the penultimate year and a Credit Analyst Intern at Moody's Investors Service during my final year.
The RMBI program has also nurtured my interest in business analytics in the context of risk management. I am pursuing an MSc degree in Business Analytics: Operational Research and Risk Analysis at the University of Manchester in the new academic year.
Besides academic knowledge, the RMBI program left me a memorable university experience. During the four years, I was able to participate in various activities such as the peer-mentor and corporate mentorship programs, career and industrial workshops, as well as the orientation camp run by the RMBI Student Association. I am also grateful for the support from the RMBI office, particularly the UG Coordinator, Prof. Jean Wang, who greatly helped my application for the master’s program.
The RMBI program was challenging; it was a rewarding and fruitful learning experience for me.
