A unique combination of knowledge in finance, statistics, and programming – that’s my first impression of RMBI and it remains what appeals to me the most.

RMBI allows me to build a solid foundation in finance and receive comprehensive training in quantitative tools. The wide spectrum of skillsets learned from the course holds me in good stead in getting into and potentially succeeding in workplace. Knowing the language in both the investment and coding world, I participated in the development of an AI-backed robo-advisory product (Pic1). The transformation from traditional portfolio management to algorithm-based automatic rebalancing processes is one of the major trends in the financial services industry, and I’m thrilled to contribute my share to the bigger picture with knowledge learned from the courses.

Plus, RMBI grants me access to abundant resources from the business, science, and engineering schools. Thanks to the various opportunities in case competitions, exchange programs, and research projects, I have been given the greatest flexibility to explore around and dive deep into the topic of choice. Personally, I’ve tried hackathons to test innovative business ideas (Pic2) and investment challenges to get a bird’s eye view of the banking industry. I even joined the UROP (Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program) and worked in a laboratory as a microbiologist for one summer (Pic3). All these experiences helped me learn more about the daily duties of my possible career paths, from which I can find where my true passion lies.

Furthermore, RMBI connects us to an extensive network across Hong Kong. We are connected with both mentors from the alumni community and the industry, who will facilitate our journey looking for career aspirations. As a member of RMBI Newsletter Committee, I also got the chance to talk to industry professionals and get valuable insider insights about the business world.

In a nutshell, with all the academic resources and different extra-curriculum opportunities, RMBI is the best place for ambitious, young individuals who are ready to embrace challenges. It will be an adventure to unleash your potential and connect you with endless possibilities.
