Our RMBIers

During my time at HKUST, I realized that change is not something to be afraid of but is something that provides opportunities to learn and grow. The business world is always changing, we always have to diversify our knowledge to keep up with these changes. With the RMBI program’s focus on multidisciplinary learning, the lessons I learned have prepared me immensely for my future career and made sure I was not afraid of the challenges and changes I would face during my internships. The quantitative and programming skills that I gained from my business intelligence courses allowed me to optimize delivery logistics when I was working at Foodpanda. The diversity in fields that we learned developed my critical thinking for Arup when I consulted cities in Asia to adopt smart city solutions. The finance and risk management knowledge I have gained laid the foundation for my graduate job at HSBC. Everything nowadays is interconnected and cross-disciplinary where there is no limit in what you want to learn or pursue.

The multidisciplinary RMBI program encourages me to explore different fields and figure out what I wanted to do. Thanks to the professional training such as capstone projects, and the faculty who is always supportive of our big ideas, RMBI has given me the courage and direction to pursue any career aspirations I have. If you are looking for a major that challenges you but also gives you the confidence to go into the real world and pursue your passions, RMBI is the major for you.
