The symposium on Risk Management and Business Intelligence will be held on 21 February 2009 to celebrate the inception of the BSc in Risk Management and Business Intelligence (RMBI) Program offered by the Interdisciplinary Programs Office, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, which aims to train students with comprehensive quantitative and statistical skills, high-quality analytical and problem-solving abilities, and a firm grasp of business fundamentals.

In line with the RMBI Program’s mission, this Symposium provides a channel for young adults to learn from experts in the fields of Risk Management and Business Intelligence, and also a platform for the industrial experts to exchange their views.  The scope of the Symposium is given below. 

•     The future development of the RM and BI industries
•     The integration of RM and BI in commercial world
•     How companies explore business opportunities using BI.
•     Lessons learnt from the financial tsunami to strengthen risk management
